Hyperion was one of the four Titan brothers who sided with Kronos in the dethronement of their father Ouranos, the former ruler of the universe. As the father of the sun and dawn, Hyperion was no doubt thought of as the Titan of the east. His brothers Koios, Krios and Iapetos presided respectively over the north, south and west. Hyperion's body was made of flames his eyes were like tiny, miniature suns. He wore armor made from the finest ancient Greek gold. He could have easily passed for a king.
